On Wednesday, June 19th, Ellicott Development celebrated the Grand Opening of their newest building, 500 Pearl. This buildings modern aesthetic, marks a striking new addition to the skyline of downtown Buffalo. The new 380,000 square-foot building combines meticulous renovation and innovative construction, making 500 Pearl Ellicott Development’s most ambitious endeavor to date. Friends, family, co-workers, and clients alike flocked downtown to celebrate the realization of Ellicott Development CEO William Paladino’s vision two years in the making.
Features:
The new building features a 110- guest room Aloft Hotel occupying the top 3 floors, providing incredible panoramic views of the city and Lake Erie, The hotel is one of the first worldwide to reflect the latest design format for the tech-forward Aloft Hotels brand, updated for the next generation of travelers. Features include a check-in ‘pod’ replacing the traditional check-in desk, and Re:fuel by Aloft®, the brand’s innovative grab-and-go food and beverage area that is designed to feel like a pop-up shop or food truck. Also in the development is twelve luxury apartments with large 9th floor exterior patios also boasting beautiful sunset views; two floors with 52k square feet of office space; a five-level parking ramp; and two restaurants on the street level, Vice & Fresh Catch, which are under construction.
The renovations to the former Christian Center include seven meeting and banquet venues perfect for meetings ranging from small gatherings to large receptions. Rooms are as follows: Exchange and Tactic (Aloft Branded), 1914, Eagles Alcove, The Fuhrmann Room, Forbes Theater, and Grand Aeries (500 Pearl Breanded). Amenities at the Aloft Hotel include the brand’s signature W XYZ® Bar, serving up craft cocktails; Re:mix® Lounge, which transitions from daytime co-working space to night-time lounge, Splash pool, and Re:charge® fitness center.
Ongoing Construction:
Buffalo’s highest rooftop bar will open in July. The Rooftop at 500 Pearl will provide breathtaking views of the vibrant city to enjoy while sipping on one of the bar’s signature beverages. Additionally, a bowling alley will open on the lower level of the former Christian Center in Fall of 2019. These upcoming projects will serve as an outstanding additions to 500 Pearl to become a one-stop destination for entertainment and leisure in downtown Buffalo. Grand Opening:
Balloons, flowers, and food displays adorned 500 Pearl as we celebrated the Aloft Buffalo Downtown, LeChase Construction’s 75th Anniversary, and the 500 Pearl Conference and Event Center. Each part of the building offered guests different features and activities to enjoy throughout the night, allowing them to familiarize themselves with 500 Pearl while sipping on complimentary beer, wine, champagne, and signature drinks. The Grand Aeries hosted an animated and interactive environment, including bowling lanes, karaoke, photo booths, giant lite brite , and more. In the 1914, guests took a visual history lesson with historic photos from when the building opened in 1914 for the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In Eagles Alcove guests received complimentary Champion shirts and sweatshirts that were pressed onsite with limited addition 500 Pearl slogans such as, “Good Things” and “Keep It 500”. Right next door guests ate a delicious dinner in the Fuhrmann Room. Dinner stations were prepared by the 500 Pearl Catering team.
LeChase celebrated their 75th Anniversary in Exchange. Guests were able to meet the LeChase leadership team while enjoying desserts and sipping on the LeChase 75 signature drink. Vice Restaurant, a whiskey, wine and dine concept is one of the newest tenants coming soon to 500 Pearl offered Three Chord Bourbon tastings in Tactic. Afterwards, all guests gathered in the newly restored Forbes Theater for Ellicott Development founder Carl Paladino, Ellicott Development CEO William Paladino, and LeChase CEO Bill Goodrich as they expressed their thanks to the guests and their excitement about the future of 500 Pearl. Later in the night Johnny Hart and the Mess got the whole crowd on their feet. The night was filled with cheer, laughter, balloons and confetti, in celebration of anew staple in Downtown Buffalo.
Open to the Public:
W XYZ® Bar – To celebrate the opening of 500 Pearl, Aloft Buffalo Downtown is hosting the first of its Live At Aloft Hotelslive music events on July 10th. Live At Aloft Hotels is the brand’s global music programs that sees live music performances taking place in W XYZ® bars around the world every week. As with all Live At Aloft Hotels events, this event is free and open to the public.
